Restaurants
When it comes to eating out, you literally have over 10,000 places to choose
from in Dallas-Fort Worth! However, from my experiences, it seems that the
restaurants that are right-on a major highway, tend to be anywhere from $3 to $5 higher
than the eateries that are couple of blocks off major highway (such as North Central
Expressway, I-35, etc.)
An average lunch meal cost is usually around $10 in the Metroplex.
A word of caution, if a restaurant says that they don't have a menu and that they'll
bring food out for you to choose from, be prepared to spend at least $20 per person --
in other words, ask about the cost before the surprise. One of the biggest problems
with eating out in Dallas is acoustics. Generally speaking, a lot of the restaurants
aren't equipped to handle multiple conversations (due to poor acoustics); therefore, some restaurants are
quite noisy.
A few of restaurant "hot" spots in the area would be
Addison, TX (Belt Line Road and all around that area),
North Central Expressway (H75),
The North Dallas Tollway, and
Stemmons Freeway (I35).
These areas have a lot of restaurants. But, don't be mistaken; there are hundreds of other
eating spots in Dallas and Fort Worth.
Check out the Metroplex Daily: Restaurant page for more places and ideas of where to eat.
